This project will deliver a report on installation of an automated paint/coating path at the Rock Island Arsenal-Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC), which is exploring implementation of a robotic paint system.
Problem
Robotic paint systems improve worker safety and increase quality, but the RIA-JMTC paint process is currently 100% manual.
Proposed Solution
The team will review the current painting process, gathering crucial information.
Impact
This initiative will help improve U.S. manufacturing and maintenance organizations’ ability to manufacture, maintain, repair, and overhaul various ground systems and their associated components in a more efficient, effective, and affordable way.
